Branded (Fall of Angels Book 1) by Keary Taylor Review

Title: Branded
Author: Keary Taylor
Series: Fall of Angels, Book One

Synopsis:
Jessica's had the nightmares for as long as she can remember. Nightmares of being judged for people who have died, of being branded by the angels. Her friends and family think she's a crazy because of it all. Yet she carries the mark of the condemned, seared into the back of her neck, and hides it and herself away from the world.
But when two men she can't ignore enter her life everything changes, including the nightmares. The two of them couldn't be more different. She will do anything to be with one of them. Even tell him the truth about angels, why she never sleeps, and the scar on the back of her neck. But one of the two has set events into motion what will pull her toward her own judgment and turn her into the object of her greatest fear.

Review:
Ok, anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely adore angel story lines. I love them, I can't help it! They are some of my favorite reads and take up a lot of space on my TBR.  Every author has a completely different take on them and truthfully they are harder to find than other story lines.

Keary Taylor wove an intriguing story with Jessica, Alex and Cole. I thought the story she told was unique among angel story lines and written very well. I have never read a story quite like this one and it definitely stands out to me. I have already purchased book number 2. Branded really was that good.

I truly felt sorry for Jessica, to be submitted to that kind of torture every time you fall asleep is terrible.  To be held accountable for others actions is an old story and unfortunately she is placed on trial every time she sleeps for someones life can be an eye opener. She is held accountable for both good and bad deeds, regardless of the choices she makes in her own life.  Her relationship with her family is damaged severely because her mother thinks she's crazy and wanted to see her committed. She truly is alone and lives a solitary existence until Alex enters her life. He appears to be her breath of fresh air. Alex tries to understand her and protect her. Suddenly Jessica finds herself not alone. He may not understand her dreams but he attempts to and doesn't make her feel crazy.

Alex was honestly the sweetest character.  I loved him. Here he was going through his own personal tragedy and he acts on the emotional connection he feels with Jessica.  He slowly pulls her into the real world where she starts to come out of her shell and show her true character.  Their love was sweet l and awe inspiring,  and they both took extreme risks to stay together in the end.

Branded is definitely worth the read! I would give it 5 stars any day of the week!  I look forward to the rest of their story!
